A Six Months" Evidence Based Study to Prevent and Manage Diabetes

Social Services Network in partnership with Gursikh Sabha Canada (a Sikh Temple) and Kutiya-Shri Anandpur Holy Satsang Ashram (a Hindu Temple) implementing a controlled impact study that will recruit people who are both regular attendees of these worship places.

A team of Registered Dietitian and Registered Nurse will monitor Body Mass Index (BMI), Blood Glucose Levels, basic physical parametes (Blood Pressure, weight, and relevant medical history, individual counselling) once a week for six months.

Trained Yoga Instructors will provide physical activities on regular basis to those who register for the study. 

Information on dealing with diabets through proper nutrition, active lifestyle and stress management will also be provided to the target group.

SSN will maintain data collection and monitor the overall project. Rgular physical activities, screening and diabetes education workshops are provided at Kutiya and Sikh Gurdwara at 2:30pm every Sunday.
