Homework Club


Deliverables/ Goal:
  • Homework Club aims to deliver socio-emotional workshops within schools in Markham, to youth at-risk attending elementary classes.  This is in partnership with York Region District School Board.
  • The Homework Club is made up of high school students, post- secondary students, and Social Services Network youth staff as the leadership group.  The purpose of Homework Club is to provide interpersonal and leadership skills to youth at-risk, from low- income families who are identified as newcomer and racialized groups.
  • The Homework Club program supports students in the area of academics and well being through interactive workshops.
Outcomes:  
  • Build students capacity in social and communication skills
  • Become leaders in community and mentor younger
  • Deliver programs socio-emotional workshops to elementary schools in Markham
