Memories From Home

Project provides opportunities for isolated seniors, especially, those who have language and culture barriers, to participate in social activities in a culturally safe environment.  Social activities are organized such as outings, celebration of cultural events, e.g. Eid, Diwali, Navroz, Pongal and mainstream events, such as Christmas, Valentine, Fathers’ Day,  Mothers’ Day, Canada Day, etc. and celebrated with seniors and youth together.  Youth and baby boomer seniors, from the South Asian community encourage older seniors to share their stories and experiences about their lives from back home, before coming to Canada.

Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati and Tamil and supported by volunteers who are from the South Asian cultures.
